Sand-eyed boy
Scraped knee
so tough
his eyes dry up
when the pants tear through
and a red pearl forms
only sand
drifting out of his eyes.
Swirling crystals enough
to dust
his durable
stegasaurus band-aid.
What do you think?
Do I detect the hand of the mysterious Shonni Vortex in this? If so, get her into an MFA program on the double!
Posted by: rodney k. at August 21, 2006 9:06 AMactually, this is just plain old me. But since I've long aspired to write like an 8-year-old MFA candidate, I'm gonna choose to take that as a compliment :-)
For folks not on TRBpotd list, here's a genuine Shonny Vortex poem, sent around this morning:
The Rain Is Singing
by Shonny Vortex
The cars are parked,
The dew is down,
This is the time when the
rain is singing all through the
town.
