Feeling betrayed by blueberries
have you ever looked inside a blueberry?
they're not even close to blue!
what color is that any way?
what horrible color
is that?
lie berries.
(crushing news at age 41.)
Betrayed by blueberries...berated by Ben Kingsley....heartbroken by sugarcubes....these are dark times indeed in the Land of Vortex.
How can we in the outside world help?
Posted by: So-Called Bill at August 11, 2008 5:02 PMdear mr. literal:
perhaps they are sad berries.
and now that you've had your say--very sad berries.
This from the Cecil who revels in the red of wine? I thought the skin of the grape was your friend. Why shouldn't the blue of the berry be your friend too? If you crush us, are we not juice? If you ferment us are we not tasty? A shallow view. You forget your depth my friend. Dark times indeed.

-Cecil
the u.s. produces 56% of the world's blueberries. if i were a blueberry, and i'm not, that lack of global disaggregation would be enough to make me sad. even blue.
and, i agree with cec. canada should be forbidden from forcing innocent blueberries into fermented wine. nasty. never before has such a delicious fruit been cruelly twisted into a 'sweet' wine. sweat wine is more like it.
Posted by: Itto Ogami at August 15, 2008 11:18 AMGeorge Carlin had a wonderful sketch about blue food in which he agreed with Cecil that there really are no blue foods, including blueberries. George, Rest in Peace. And Cecil, sorry that this whole meditation is makin' your brown eyes blue. (Sorry, but I just can't come up with something fresh on Sarah Palin.) Computilo.
